Ask Every Student Funding Opportunities

Apply for an Implementation Grant today!

Ask Every Student is offering funding to help campuses implement, institutionalize, and scale AES voter registration tactics throughout 2024. Grants will be distributed beginning May 20, 2024 and must be expended by December 1, 2022. Funding will be distributed by the Students Learn Students Vote (SLSV) Coalition, a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy, a 501(c)(3) organization.

All campuses are eligible to apply for merit- and needs-based Implementation Grants after completing the AES First Step Form. AES Implementation Grants average $5,000, though the AES Steering Committee will consider proposals from campuses of slightly higher and lower amounts depending on the scope of the project laid out in their implementation plan (more details in the Request for Proposal), the size of their student population, and the expected number of students they’ll register to vote. Preference will also be given to institutions that are Minority-Serving Institutions, community colleges, campuses with high rates of Pell Grant recipients, and rural-serving institutions.

Campuses are encouraged to only apply for the amount they think they can reasonably spend during the grant period of May 20, 2024 through December 1, 2024. No more than 18% of the total grant budget may be allocated to overhead or other indirect costs.

If your campus has not completed the First Step Form since January 2024, it must be completed again.

Fill out the First Step Form!

The first step in applying is to fill out the Ask Every Student First Step Form. The self-assessment tool will help you figure out the best way that you can use funding to ask every student on your campus. After filling out the form, you’ll automatically receive an email response with your answers to help you apply these tools to your context.
